You may develope skills, but it will be without the help of Chelsea clock. They will do everything they can to make your life a nightmare. You may want to search the archive of this website to see the problems that you will have. Have you tried to get parts from them? In fact they do not want you in the picture and will insist that you return the clock to them for repair. The last quote I got from them was $600-800 for a clean, oil, rebush a ships bell. And they know they can get it! You can see why they dont want you for a middleman.
I will think long and hard before I accept another Chelsea for repair.
Good luck.

Vern,
Lots of Luck!!
I had a Chelsea a few years back, ran great but had a cracked glass. All I wanted to do was replace the glass. They wouldn't sell it to me. They wanted me to ship them the clock along with $200 minium charge just for looking at the clock, cost of glass and installing extra. Then they would inspect the entire clock and give me a quote on what other repairs needed to be done.
Also, they wanted me to provide them with a credit card number!!!

 Vern, I forgot to tell you the good part. My ships clock had the screw on bezel. I took it over to a local glass specialist and they cut me a new glass and they charge by the sq. foot, so the new glass only cost me $3.
