Hi,

Please provide a picture of the front, and the back with the case open. The serial number from the case is usually of no help in telling anything about the watch since the case was usually made by a case maker, not the watchmaker. By now you may have noticed that we do not discuss values on this message board.

Kendal & Dent is most commonly found on Swiss imports from Buren. It will be difficult to date one of those. If it resides in an English hallmarked case, you can reasonably go with the case date.

I own a very handsome Kendal & Dent which is definitely English, not Swiss. The case has a Chester hallmark for 1901-02. If you can give us a clear photo of the movement (works) and of the case hallmark, I should be able to tell you whether the movement is English or Swiss made, and when it was made.

My guess would be 1898-99. By the way, is this one of K& D's false fusee movements?

Definitely Birmingham, 1898-99. Case maker Charles Hutton Errington, Holyhead Road, Coventry.
