Hi, Can anyone teel me how to remove the movement from a Hamilton Ships Chronometer? It is the Model 22. I have removed it from the wooden box and gimbals, however, it looks like you need to remove the stem before the movement can be removed from the brass case. Thanks, Chuck

There is a detent screw that needs to be turned about 1 1/2 turns. This will release the winding arbor.

By the way, the complete military repair manual has been reproduced and is still being sold. You can also check one out of the NAWCC library.
