Is anyone able to help me with finding out just how many Waltham 5 minute repeaters were produced and were they all based around the 1884 movements? The serial numbers that I have checked on the Waltham site just describes watches as 1884 Riverside - were they modified externally? Thanks

We don't have accurate numbers on the repeaters because they were made in the New York City office of Waltham. Some are marked on the records from the factory, but not all of them.
They were made in at least two grades and sometimes they were apparently re-damaskeened in the New York shop.
There are two basic styles, the Aubert repeater and the Meylan repeater. You can see web pages about these and other complicated Walthams at http://www.awco.org/AWCo/Complications.htm

There are 74 and 84 models plus some in various sizes.
I have recorded various runs--which run interests you?
