I just bought an 8 day Elgin car clock which I would like to mount in my 1926 Model T Roadster. The movement serial # is 27603865. I have a lot of questions about the clock. First, is this the correct forum or do these fall in some other category? Where can I find more information about how they work? After winding, it will run for a few hours and then stop. The stem is about 3" long and will wind but will not set the time - on my similar Waltham the stem knob pulls down to turn to set the time. How does this one operate? The back is missing, so where can I find one? Can I learn to clean and repair one myself?
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
