Hi mikefap:

Welcome to the NAWCC Pocket Watch Message Board!

Here's the Introductory Ad (http://photos15.flickr.com/20828301_5cff0e2b3e_o.jpg) which shows an original configuration.

Also, Robert Sweet, assisted by others, has put together a fantastic thread on the old ref::992/992B.

Edited to reflect Terry's excellent correction.

As the watch was available in other cases, it could be said an original configuration...

The only way to be assured (to a higher degree) of originality is to have the outside box with its label.......

Hi mikefap,
I too welcome you. If you could post an image of your 992B, it would be very helpful in answering your question.

Below is 3 of the most common 992B combinations for the first year of production, but remember
there were others.

The initial (940) lot of production 992B's was equipped with (HG) heavy gothic and (BM) Blind Man's numerical dials and was shipped Nov. 5, 6, 7, 1940.
