Please help identify the maker of this chronograph. The dial is marked "HUBER". There are no markings on the movement other than a serial number #1425449. The back of the case is marked "Amm. Lab. 5606". I hope someone will recognize the movement from the photos attached. I believe this watch may date from WWII, possibly German. Please click on the following link to see photos. Hi Casey, I also have a 16S pocket watch marked Huber on the dial. I got mine at a flea market, and it might be obvioius why I bought it. Mine has a black porcelin dial with luminous numbers and hands. Mine is also marked Helvetia just above the seconds register. It is a 15J, nickel movement. I do believe that there was a Helvetia watch company. Maybe someone here on this board might know.
I lived in Germany for 4 years. In Munich there is a large high end jewelery store named Huber. Reportedly, he has been in business since the 1930's. I have no idea whether mine is a private label from his store or not. Tom

Tom:
Thanks for your info. I see why you bought a Huber watch. The Huber Jewelry Store might be a clue. I thought some of the military watch collectors might be able to help as the inscription "Amm.Lab." on the back of the watch led me to believe the watch might be military related. Thanks, Casey.

Casey, I also believe that mine was a military pocket watch. There are no markings on the case to designate such. The movement on mine is marked HUBER and 32A. My watch is a low grade watch. Fifteen jewels. The finish is poor. The jewels are pressed in, not in a setting. Yours is the only other one that I have known of that has the Huber name on it. Tom
