Following is the Executive Director?s Report for July 2002

1.Several of the senior staff attended the National Convention in Anaheim, CA.
2.A Donor Appreciation Reception at the National Convention was organized by Museum Trustee, Terry Brotherton to thank donors who contributed $100 or more or gave in-kind contributions of $100 or more during the past year. The reception provided an opportunity for the NAWCC Council, Museum Trustees and NAWCC staff to personally thank contributors who supported the Museum, the School and the Association.
3.Personnel changes at HQ include the appointment of James Bland as Director of Marketing, the reassignment of Bobbi Minnick as Administrative Assistant, and the departure of Patti Baughman, Administrative Assistant and Andy Pilotti, Director of Fundraising.
4.The Women?s Auxiliary of the VFW presented the Museum a large American flag and floor stand at their annual meeting in Camp Hill, PA. The Museum was one of three organizations in the area selected for this honor. The flag is displayed in the rotunda at HQ.
5.Promotional materials for the Museum, School and Association were taken to the Javits Center in New York City for the Watch & Jewelry Show. Contacts were made with various representatives in the watch and clock industry.
6.At the end of July, the Association had 30,063 members, showing a net gain of 150 members for the month. This gain was due to the gain in members at the National Convention.
7.Efforts in the Library and Research Center have centered on archiving indexing for the web site, archiving the Seth Thomas Collection, assembling materials for the upcoming Hamilton exhibit, and doing preliminary work to begin a program to collect oral histories from former Hamilton employees.
8.The School of Horology is now listed on the Department of Employment and Training website. The School has made application for its license renewal with the Department of Education. Classes are close to maximum enrollment.
9.At the end of the month of July, the NAWCC operations for the Museum, School, and Headquarters showed a surplus of $40,000.
