I have a rather small pocket watch(not complete however) that appears to have a cloisonne exterior this watch is only 1 inch in diameter and actually the smallest pocket watch I have ever seen in person...it has fleur-de-lis on the back of the case and no dials or crystal but I managed to lift off the bezel and stamped were the numerals 260 and the movement has a number 164662...I am thinking (along with a pocket watch expert friend of mine) that this watch is pre-1850 and associated with a Royal House in some fashion...need help with whom the maker might be though...believe it is fairly rare

Hi Pie,
Sorry to inform you that your watch is neither from the Royals, or the 1850's nor is it cloisonne.
It is a Guilloche enamel watch from the 1890 to 1920 era and a rather inexpensive one to boot sorry to say.
These watches are indeed quite collectable however.
Good luck!

Just for curiosity's sake I took off the back cover finally, felt comfortable doing that although it felt like it was seized up when I tried several days ago....inside the back cover I found ..." Argent Switzerland JW < (inside a rectange)the number 162695 and a box with what appears to be 0.8CC?
