Mike,

The topic of an NAWCC sponsored repair referral service has appeared on this Message Board before. I have included a link to the discussion wherein are supplied other links to the same topic. You can draw your own conclsions from this discussion, but it would seem to me as though any agency (NAWCC included) could conceivably be putting themselves into an unwelcome position of responsibility over an unsatisfactory repair. It would be a good idea if it could be made to work, but..........!

Any further comments?

The NAWCC has set up a Members Link page.

Members Link (http://www.nawcc.org/headquarters/memlinks.htm)

It takes a little searching but you can find almost anything to do with clocks, watches, repairs, web sites, etc.

This is an interesting idea and as Steve says we do have a voluntary directory in the member pages on the NAWCC Web Site.

AWI has a certification program and I looked at their directory to see what it had. Unfortunately it has a search engine front end that does not know how to do approximations. Therefore you need the exact zip code of town name to find anyone.

The Open Directory Project available through google has a fairly large directory of clock and watch repair web sites at http://directory.google.com/Top/Shopping/Antiques_and_Collectibles/Clocks_and_Watches/Repair/

How would people imagine a vetted directory to work? Or, is a vetted directory more trouble than it could possibly be worth?
