I found in the Dollar Tree store 1500 round tooth picks for $1.00. They seem to work well for cleaning pivot holes.

For big clock pivot holes, yes. For watches and aircraft clocks the points will not hold up.

That's an interesting site Phil. The orangewood seems a little bit pricey at 75 cents a stick.
The site took me back to my days of disassembling frogs and I checked out some of their other items. They have a very nice selection of Dumont tweezers in both Dumostar (I think the modern replacement for the Dumoxel I used to use) and Titanium. It was interesting that the Titanium was rather less expensive than the Dumostar. 30 years ago it was the other way around.

Try barbecue skewers at houseware stores. Very cheap. Bamboo. Very tough. I like them. Save the chop sticks at Chinese Restaurants for large pivot holes. No cost at all. And they are also just the right size to fit through headstock of Unimat lathes to push things out of the collet.
