Gold pocket watch marked 'switzerland' on inside of case. Engraved 1901 with initials and AW 14k, serial # 88827. Cannot find the mnftr inside or outside of watch.

Any suggestion as to the company via serial #. I do not have a listing of Swiss serial #s.

Most of these watches were A Wittanur cases and a lot of them had Longines movements.

But AW also was a casemaker for many imported Swiss brands.

(Note that AWC might indicate a Waltham product.)
