From past posts on this subject, it would appear that no serial number to date lists are available for NYS watches. One member commented that he had seen the same serial number on NYS movements which suggests that the serial number may have been a grade number, but no one realy knows.

The best suggestion to date your watch would be to examine old catalogs and see when and if your watch shows up in a picture. This is not a great suggestion, but it's all one can do w/o a serial number list.

On these later New York Standard watches the "serial number" that is visible is a coded number that indicates the size and a few other characteristics of the watch. There may be a true serial number under the dial, but as Greg says, there is no date correlation available at present. There are a few researchers working on this.
