The election results have been provided elsewhere, but perhaps not all
Chapters have seen them.
Those elected were: Doug Cowan (OH) President; Judy Draucker (VA)
1st Vice President;
John Hubby (TX) 2nd Vice President; Nancy Ankrom (PA) Secretary; and
David Wood (PA) Treasurer.
The elected Directors in alphabetical order were: Steve Burgamy (LA);
Frank DelGreco (OH);
Rochelle Gaenger (FL); Joe Kuechle (MI); and Mary Ann Wahlner (CA).
The new Council will include the above folks, plus Past President George
ORR (OK); Betty Brown (OH); John Connolly (BC); Ursula Metzker (KS);
Hugh Overton (MO); and Jon Carpenter (IN).
Thanks for voting, and I wish that more had. Despite the many issues
facing us, fewer people voted than was expected.
New Council will discuss the possibility of electronic voting to mke it
easier to vote in the future.
All 39 Bylaws changes were solidly approved. Most were clarifications and
corrections, but a few were of special interest.
Both Treasurer and Secretary positions must in future be contested.
Previously, these were could be uncontested after their first term
election, at the discretion of the Nomination Committee.
New Council will in future take over at the end of Old Council's meeting
during the Annual midsummer meeting., rather than waiting until the
General Membership meeting. This allows the new Council to get to work
immediately.
The duties of Standing (permanent) Committees were again written into the
Bylaws.
Sincerely, Doug Cowan 1VP
