kieninger triple chime floor clock. I have had this completly apart for cleaning. I thought I would remember everything but oh how dumb I am . Now the clock runs great. BUT I cannot get the chime to operate correctly. I can get the sequence of the notes ok but the problem is that sometimes it goes through all 4 chimes and doesn't stop until it gets all the way around to where it started, ( starts on the 1/4 contiues around through all notes and stops at begining of 1/4 again. ) The shaft outside with cam for quarters goes inside to another cam with a ridge. There are two thin arms that hook onto it these arms are raised by the lifting action of the hand shaft on the quarters. Can some one please tell me how to set these cams and levers.Or send picture ? THANKS

Everett, welcome to the message board. The levers you refer to are the chime locking lever, and the chime correction lever. Adjusting them is trial and error in gradual increments, but this is likely the source of your problem.
You will also have to have the chime correction cam set properly, and the warning pin. You need nearly half a turn of warning run when the chime locking lever is engaged. This is adjusted by loosening the plates, and moving the gears. The chime correction cam has to be set to activate after the third quarter chime. These adjustments need to be done by loosening the plates and carefully changing the meshing of the pinions and gears. Let us know how you make out. Sorry, I have no pictures to show you.
Is this your own clock?

You have the older style.
1. Set the quarter chime plate onn the outside to the 3/4 position.
2. The cam on the inside should have a set screw to allow th eadjustment such that the chime synchronization locking lever and the quarter chime locking lever both fall into place. The latter should be locked against the cam.

THANKS --Mark and Harold-- I did the setup as you described and the chimes have been correct for thr last 15 hours. I hope it stays that way. Yes the clock is mine, bought at auction. (Not running) One more thing please---Laying in the bottom of the clock was another piece I could not find anyplace to fit it into the movement. The piece is a shaft about 1 11/16" long including a pivot on each end. There is a 1 " long flat piece pressed onto it about center length. That piece is shaped somewhat like the runner on a sled. There is a very thin spring around the shaft that extends out and locks into a small hole in the flat piece. Other end of spring could fit into somethhing perhaps a front or back plate or? The item is the exact length to fit into pivot holes in the plates but I did not notice any that would not interfere with other internal parts. I could tell by the scratches and other marks that someone before me has had the movement apart.
AGAIN THANKS FOR THE HELP YOU HAVE ALREADY GIVEN ME. Everett
PS I'm going to enter anoter post asking how to set winding stops so the weights will be equally level,

Everett, check around the hammers, and chime barrel for any missing parts. I don't have a movement here to check right now. Does it have a pinion gear on it?
Person who worked on it before you may have left it after replacing it with a new one.

Everett, if the clock is working fine, I wouldn't worry about it.
