I have inbound what appears to be a WWI German
cockpit pocket watch. I'll post pics once it arrives, but from the pics I was sent, it is marked "F.W Kreis W.Berlin.W" at the bottom of the dial, and has a typical "winged propellor" mark with the letters F Z L around it. Crown is located at the "6" and subseconds chapter at the top, or "12". I have only come across one reference to that type of watch on the "net, so any information would be greatly appreciated..
Cheers

Harold, The jeweler marking for W.Berlin W. suggests "West Berlin". Since West Berlin existed from 1945 to 1989, you may want to really check the authenticity of this watch.
I was stationed in Berlin in the late 1960's and seem to remember a jewelry store by that name somewhere in the vicinity of the Kurfeurstendamm (KuDamm). The KuDamm was the main shopping area of West Berlin.

Thanks Tom..
I have found one reference to these watches,
German military watches (http://www.knirim.homepage.t-online.de/themen.htm)
that suggests that the W.Berlin.W is correct for these watches. If you look about halfway down the page, you will find a watch that looks like the one I have inbound.
I'm not passing judgement on the accuracy of the claim until I see what's inside the watch, and do a bit more reseach..
Thanks for the input, its apreciated
Cheers
Harold
