I've recently begun taking a strong interest in pre-19th century watches. Can anyone recommend any resources, both within the NAWCC and without, for someone who has an interest in collecting these timepieces?

Some sites worth looking at, for their illustrations and informed descriptions of watches from the mid-1700s onwards, are those of Tom McIntyre - http://www.awco.org/Collections.html - amd Barry Goldberg - http://www.barrygoldberg.net/watches.htm . Perhaps I may also add my own: http://www.horologia.co.uk .

Outside the Net, the standard reference book is F. J. Britten's ?Old Clocks and Watches and their Makers?. I believe the most recent (ninth) edition was published by NAG Press (U.K.) in 1989.
