Got this a while ago. Looks a bit "twisted", doesn't it? The object of the odd design is clear after some thought, though. Some butcher has left some evidence on the cock :frown:  :frown:
I have not been able to check up the Swiss patent number, anybody who knows if this sort of info is available on line?

Very interesting! Does the entire regulator assembly also rotate to put the balance in beat or is the stud solidly affixed? Are the regulator pins on the same steel piece as the stud?

Hopefully a somewhat better pic, I'm not very good at photoing.
The "A"-shaped stud piece is separate from the regulator (index) arm with the curb pins. This allows the beat to be set by rotating the complete assembly without disturbing the rergulator. Another advantage is that the curb pins are on the same arm as the index, upon which the regulator screw works, not the opposite as on an usual micrometric whip lash regulator.

That is a really cool regulator and beat setting device. The second picture finally let me see the curb pins.
So, if you ease off the screw on the triangular stud, you can set the beat right?

Tom,
I know you like regulators, and I had you, among others, in mind when I posted it.
It is on a Zenith 19''' PW which is extraordinarly nice finished. To set the beat you just turn the whole assembly, which is friction tight on the cock. you dont have to loosen any screws.
