In the coming auction of Jones & Horan on October 10th.
They have 2 Illinois Marquis Autocrats on the list, with 14K gold cases.

N0.1 case is coin edged,(hope this is the correct terminology)
the first I have come across on this model, and is engraved
Illinois 14K. Does this stand for the Illinois watch Case Co. <A HREF="http://www.jones-horan.com/images/0205/dd6_d.jpg" TARGET=_blank>http://www.jones-horan.com/images/0205/dd6_d.jpg (http://www.geocities.com/jas_carroll/illinois1.jpg)

No.2 case is engraved Keystone 14K, on the GF cases they have the
Full Keystone J.Boss. crest. Is this usual not to put full company

Jim, Case #1 is clearly gold filled, as it says it just under the 14K. Yes, it is more than likely the Illinois WatchCase Co. Case #2 is more than likely 14K gold.

These are newer cases (1920's), actually post 1924, when the rules changed for labeling cases. At that time, the case had to be clearly marked as gold filled and the Karat amount clearly stated. The words warranted and guarenteed were no longer authorized to be used for GF cases.
