Hi Ken:

Welcome to the NAWCC Pocket Watch Message Board!

The data base that Ed Ueberall and I maintain has a number of examples from the range 13,001 - 13,400. There's an assortment of Ball & Co., brotherhood and private label ORRS movements in that range.

These are usually not in a Ball-signed case, although they may have been sold as a cased watch (in unsigned cases) by Ball to the inspectors-dealers.

Oh, by the way, the case should be marked "IWCCo." for Illinois Watch Case. Co.

Good luck getting it fixed,

The notation in the Cooksey guide for the Railroad Watch CO should have referred to Watches in the 20000 - 21000 range (estimate). I don't believe there have been any RWCo marked watches in the 13-14000 range.

Serial numbers 13001-400 were sent to the Hamilton Finishing Department on 4/15/95 and 8/14/95. You can assume that the watches were completed and off to Ball by the end of the year.

If you are a member of NAWCC you can get the exact date the watch was finished and sold by writing reasearch@nawcc.org Just specify that it is a Hamilton watch and the serial number.
