I have been given a pocket watch that my great uncle gave my mother. It is my understanding that she recieved this in the fifties and that it was not brand new then. It is a RR style(open face?) and has all minutes numbered. The name on it is "Baylor", everything I have found here leads me to believe that it is a swiss movement of some sort. On the reverse there is an etched train(looks kind of like a diesel electric type of train).

First, anyone have any thoughts on how old, who made, etc?

Second, How would one try to open said watch to try to find any other information?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks to Jason(see above) I have removed the back(screw back). upon doing so I find that the mechanism appears to be very clean. on the mechanism it states Baylor Watch Co and 17 Jewels. On the reverse of the back it again state Baylor watch Co, Switzerland, also gold plated 6 20 microns, a small upside-down triangle with a vertcal line in it, base metal, and what I assume is the serial number as follows: UT 445 1014. Also there is the number 23 on the edge of bothe the mechanism and the reverse of the back.

I hope that with this added infomation, and with your help, I can find out some more on this watch.
